The creation of Les Arcs has played a considerable role in the radical transformation of mountain architecture. Labelled “Remarkable contemporary architecture” by the Ministry of Culture, it is a singular expression of modernity.

Charlotte Perriand, a world-renowned Savoyard architect, spent more than twenty years designing the Arcs 1600 and 1800, one of her most important works. Minimalism, functionality, interior / exterior dialogue…, to understand the ingenious spirit of Charlotte Perriand as well as the work of architects Gaston Regairaz, Guy Rey-Millet, Bernard Taillefer, Robert Robutato, Pierre Faucheux go to the Tourist Office which organizes architectural tours. It steepens as soon as it enters the forest and its blind sections and terrain movements give it all its character. Located on the Saulire side, it goes down directly to the Chaudanne after big sinuous curves.
